TRUCK PULLING RULES

Entry fee is $20.00 per truck and $25.00 per truck for outlaw and open

General Rules

                                          DRIVERS MEETING 1/2 HR. BEFORE PULL STARTS
                                                            TRUCKS START TIME 7 PM
                                              NO CLASSES STARTED AFTER MIDNIGHT!!!


 1. Weight Classes.
 2. All classes require a minimum of three pullers.
 3. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ON TRACK OR IN PIT AREA. Any driver believed to be a potential safety hazard will be barred. Driver is responsible for his pit crew. Failure to observe rules will result in disqualification with no return of entry fee.
 4. Pulling or towing vehicles must be operated in safe manner at all times.
 5. All drivers must wear shirt, pants, and shoes in competition.
 6. Helmets, seat belts, preferred.
 7. All weights must be securely fastened. No weights permitted in cab, under hood, no loose ballast or bags.
 8. Vehicle must start and stop on signal of track judge, no use of rear view mirrors (pull considered over when forward motion stops). Violators will be disqualified.
 9. All vehicles must weigh in and pass safety inspection. A 2 1/2 lb. fire extinguisher required (Track judges reserve the right to re-weigh the pulling vehicle).
10. No one is allowed on track or within 25 feet of track except track officials, judges and contestants.
11. No pit crew member permitted on track except to start the vehicle and get it hooked to sled.
12. No one other than driver permitted in vehicle while vehicle is pulling.
13. Vehicle must start with tight hitch, no jerking or working of clutch after pull is started. Any violation will be disqualified.
14. Vehicle and sled must remain in boundaries during pull. Any attempt to move sled is considered measurable.
15. Contestants must pull in assigned position and within three minutes of sled spotting. (Track officials to determine position change if necessary).
16. Entries close at the start of class, unless due to traffic hold up.
17. First puller is test puller with option to re-pull in third position. All decisions on re-pull must be made before vehicle leaves track with track judge’s approval. Any disqualification on first pull bars second  attempt. During pull off, only one attempt is allowed to make a measurable pull.
18. Judge’s decision to be final in all classes. Judge’s have option to re-pull all first pulls.
19. Rain out: (1) During pull, any class not completed will be treated as a rain out. If class must be canceled after 2/3 of entries have pulled, purse for class must be paid. (2) Pulling session can be called complete if 1/2 of advertised classes were completed. We reserve the right to reschedule.
20. If open top or roll bar, a helmet with face shield required. All vehicles must have windshield.
21. Electric fuel pump allowed in all classes. DOT stock tires are okay. No over sized dual tires.
22. All vehicles while being hitched and unhitched will be in park (automatic) or neutral (standard) with drivers hands in the air.
23. Excessive loss of liquid on track or loss of parts is cause for a disqualification.
24. All Vehicles with state inspection will pull in only one class unless otherwise permitted.
25. Arguing and unsportsmanlike conduct toward officials is cause for disqualification of both driver and vehicle for the day.
26. All vehicles must have working rear suspension-minimum of 3 spring plys. **exception outlaw class**
27. Must be 16 years or older to enter any class.
28. All pulling is at pullers own risk!
29. No vertical hitches!!
30. If there is a protest must be made by competitor of that class. And must be made to track officials not to the announcer stand or registration. Officials will decide if complaint is legitimate then truck will be disqualified.


ABSOLUTE SHOWROOM
HOOK FEE $20.00

SHOWROOM TRUCKS
HOOK FEE $20.00


Classes

Small Block 412 C.I. and less                        6,000 lbs.
Big Block 413 C.I. and up                              6,500 lbs.

General Rules Apply

  1. Two add ons or modifications are allowed. Add ons being aluminum intake, headers Holley carburetors.
 2. Rough idle will be considered a modification.
 3. Vehicle should look and sound like an every day vehicle.
 4. Inspection and license necessary, owners card and insurance card may be asked for to verify legality of vehicle.
 5. Air cleaners are mandatory. Battery must be secured to truck.
 6. Must pull off bumper or reese hitch. Hitch point must be rear most part of vehicle.
 7. Hitch point can be no higher than frame.
 8. No heavy front bumpers or hanging weights. Snowplow rigging allowed.
 9. Weights can be put in bed none in cab.
10. No weights under hood. This will be checked before, during and after class is pulled.
11. Posi-traction carriers allowed. No welded carriers or spools permitted in front rear or rear differential.
12. Compression ratio should be no higher than year of truck being pulled.
13. 10 inch wide rim allowed. 12 inch tread width.
14. Any truck towed or hauled into pull will not pull in showroom class. Vehicle must enter arena under its own power.
15. No nitrous oxide or racing fuel.
16. No suspension add ons, helper springs or air bags. Stock springs and overloads only.
17. Driver who fails to hold position in line will forfeit his points for that class.
18. All decisions of officials are FINAL!!!




HIGH OUTPUT
HOOK FEE $20.00


Classes

Small Block 435 C.I. and less                        6,200 lbs.
Big Block 440 C.I. and up                              6,500 lbs.

General Rules Apply

    1. No frame alterations. Frame and body must be same year and make.
  2. Limit to one 4 barrel carburetor. High rise manifold allowed. No tunnel rams.
  3. Must have fan shroud.
  4. Headers allowed.
  5. Pulling hitch permitted.
  6. Suspension blocking allowed. No solid suspension. Must have working suspension, shackles and hangers.
  7. Internal engine changes permitted.
  8. Posi or welded front ends allowed.
  9. Hook height 26 inches. Hook point to center of axle should not be less than 27% of wheel base.
10. Must be street legal.
11. No wider than 10 inch rims. Tread width not to exceed 12.5 inches, and 35 inches high.
12. Weight bracket allowed. Weights can be no further than 60 inches from center of front axle.
13. D.O.T. tires only. Cut tires allowed.
14. No wrangler type tires, bar tires or stock car tires.
15. Drive shaft loops and kill switches required.
16. Any trucks that can’t make High Output guidelines will pull in the Outlaw Class.
17. Driver who fails to hold position in line will forfeit his points for that class.
18. All decisions of officials are FINAL!!!


OUTLAW CLASS
HOOK FEE $25.00
6,500 lbs.

  1. A technical safety inspection is required before pull.
  2. Drive shaft loops one per shaft (3).
  3. U-joint guards are required on each U-joint.
  4. Kill switch required.
  5. Safety blanket on automatic transmissions.
  6. Blow-proof bell housing on standard transmissions.
  7. Crank damper shield required unless a S.F.I. approved damper is used.
  8. Fire extinguisher required in cab.
  9. Nitrous oxide permitted.
10. Hook height and hitch: 26 inches. Hook point to center of axle should not be less than 27% of wheel base. Pulling hitches are permitted.
11. Helmets, seatbelts, fire suits required.
12. Driver who fails to hold position in line will forfeit his points for that class.
13. All decisions of officials are FINAL!!!




STREET DIESEL
HOOK FEE $20.00
8,000 LBS.


General Rules Apply

    1. A technical safety inspection required before pull.
  2. Must be state licensed and inspected and insurance card.
  3. Street Diesel trucks must be driven in.
  4. Tires must be DOT tire. (NO CUT TIRES)
  5. Duals allowed no oversized duals. Duals allowed on dually trucks only.
  6. Turbo, stock appearing no swapping between makes.
  7. NO drugs or water injection #2 fuel only.
  8. NO front weights or heavy front bumpers.
  9. Factory snow plow or winch brackets (NO winch allowed).
10. Weights in bed only.
11. No weights in cab.
12. No frame or suspension modifications.
13. No suspension add ons, air bags or helper springs.
14. Exhaust should exit rear of truck or vertical stacks behind cab.
15. Reese style hitch, or bumper pulling hitches.
16. No vertical hitches. 3.5 twisted clevis or equivalent opening to allow sled hook. 26” hitch height.
17. No laptops allowed.
18. Driver who fails to hold position in line will forfeit his points for that class.
19. All decisions of officials are FINAL!!!



HOT STREET DIESEL
HOOK FEE $20.00
8,000 lbs.


General Rules Apply

    1. A technical safety inspection required before pull.
  2. Must be state licensed and inspected and insurance card.
  3. Hot Street diesel must be driven in.
  4. All electronic tuners, lap tops, data loggers allowed.
  5. Tires must be DOT 35-12.50 limit.
  6. Duals allowed. No oversized dual tires.
  7. Turbo limit 2.6 bushed.
  8. Fuel nothing allowed other than #2 fuel only and water/meth.
  9. Hanging front weights allowed.
10. Weights will be no more than 60” from center of front diff.
11. No weights in cab.
12. Suspension traction bars, blocks, 2” of travel, straps, airbags etc.
13. No solid suspension, removable or adjustable stops allowed.
14. Exhaust cannot exit toward spectators. Exhaust must exit to rear of truck or vertical stacks behind cab any diameter.
15. Reese style hitch, no trick hitches, no vertical hitches, 3.5 twisted clevis or equivalent opening to allow sled hook. 26” hitch height.
16. Driver who fails to hold position in line will forfeit his points for that class.
17. All decisions of officials are FINAL!!!
18. Fire extinguisher required in cab.
19. Track width of rear tires must not exceed 96”
20. Exposed u-joints must be shielded (u-joints visiable from side of truck).


OPEN DIESEL
HOOK FEE $25.00
8,000 lbs.


General Rules Apply

   1. A technical safety inspection required before pull.
  2. Fire Extinguisher required in cab.
  3. Helmets, seat belts, fire suits required.
  4. Safety blanket on automatic transmissions.
  5. Blow-proof bell housing on standard transmissions turning more than 4500 rpms
       SFI approved flywheel/clutch on standard transmissions.

  6. Crank shaft damper shield required unless a SFI damper is used.
  7. Kill switch required a
nd or air shut off.
  8. Drive shaft loops required.
  9. U-joint guards required.
10. All tuners, lap tops, data loggers allowed.
11. Turbo unlimited single or 3.2 atmosphere twin.
12. Hanging weights allowed.
13. Weights will be no more than 60” from center of front diff.
14. Solid suspension allowed.
15. Exhaust anything vertical.
16. Hitch height 26”.
17. Pulling hitches allowed.
18. No vertical hitches allowed.
19. Fuel: Diesel, Nitrous, Propane, water/meth.
20. Driver who fails to hold position in line will forfeit his points for that class.
21. All decisions of officials are FINAL!!!
22. Track width of rear tires must not exceed 102”.
23. Pulling tires and cut tires allowed.
24. Must have 2 3/8” bolts in a cross pattern as close to the turbocharger exhaust outlet as possible.
